Kraftringen, Energy Opticon, RISE, Region Skåne, Lund University and Sustainable Business Hub arranged a final conference for the project e-Flex - digital platform for trading and management of energy, which was held at the City Hall in Lund.
On the agenda were insights, results, business models, profitability potential and next steps for this successful collaborative project for user flexibility and total optimization.
The conclusions from the evaluation of e-Flex:
- The green energy transition is creating challenges in the energy system. Innovative tools for flexibility, AI, digitalization, sector-coupling, regionalization and infrastructure investments are part of the solution.
- New types of collaborations between e.g. energy companies, industries and property owners, together with high-tech solutions, can together deliver real energy system benefits.
- There is high flexibility potential during large parts of the year, especially in spring/autumn
- Electricity can be released into the grid at critical hours
- Creating a good collaboration with building owners is reducing the risk with double-connection (heat pumps) and restrictions in the energy system
- There is an increased potential with a variable electricity price
- e-Flex is creating a cost and environmentally optimized energy supply
